They will be mourned by their families and friends they will be mourned by their nation they will be mourned by the people of the world they will be mourned by a Mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown. These two men are laying down their lives in mankind’s most noble goal: the search for truth and understanding. But they also know that there is hope for mankind in their sacrifice. The more I see, the more I conclude that even if the will and the money had been there to sustain the Apollo program and grow it into something more like what is shown in the tv series, For All Mankind. But if we are going to the moon to stay that will demand the establishment of whole new industries to sustain this. It’s starting to look like we might have the ability to put people the moon in a few years. ![]() We are not going to be launching any of them anytime soon. This always struck me as utter absurdity. A phrase I heard a lot when I was a kid, “we have rockets that can put a man on the moon but we can’t do fill in the blank.” ![]()
